Playoff Wins: 11
Biggest Dynasty Challengers: 49ers, Bills,

There’s an urge to shrug your shoulders from here on down in our rankings, because the top four dynasties are pretty much 1A, B, C, and D. Basically, they’re all really, stupidly great football teams that won a lot of games.

Looking at the Cowboys, they absolutely dominated under the league’s brightest spotlight in the early ‘90s. Their first two Super Bowl wins of the decade each came over the Buffalo Bills by a combined score of 82-30. A trio of legends now enshrined in Canton led the Cowboys’ dominance during that era: Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith.

Smith is still holds the all-time career rushing record, and unlike many running backs now over the past few decades, he remained productive deep into his 30s. During his final season at the age of 35 Smith still rushed for 935 yards while with the Arizona Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Irvin had four seasons with at least 1,300 receiving yards, and Aikman is the Cowboys’ all-time franchise leader in passing yards.

About Sean Tomlinson

Hello there! This is starting out poorly because I already used an exclamation point. What would you like to know about me? I once worked at a mushroom farm, which is sort of different I guess (don't eat mushrooms). I'm pretty wild too, and at a New Year's Eve party years ago I double-dipped a chip. Oh, and I write about football here and in a few other places around the Internet, something I did previously as the NFL features writer and editor at The Score. Let's be friends.
