Colts WR T.Y. Hilton expected to play Monday night vs. Jets

Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has been dealing with a nagging knee injury all week long, but it sounds like he will be good to play this evening on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets. According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Hilton is expected to play tonight.

Needless to say, this is huge news for the Colts and their chances to even their record up at 1-1. They suffered a very embarrassing loss on the road against the Buffalo Bills last week after being expected to open the season with a big win. Andrew Luck looked awful and the entire Colts’ offense seemed to shut down right out of the gate.

Hilton will be needed to go up against a very tough Jets’ defense. They have a very solid secondary and defensive line and Hilton will likely be shadowed by one of the best cornerbacks to play the game in Darrelle Revis.

It will be interesting to see what kind of offensive game plan the Colts come out with this week. Pep Hamilton knows that he needs to use Frank Gore on the ground much more this week than he did last week. That will take some pressure off of Luck’s shoulders, but they still will be throwing the football early and often throughout the game.

Hopefully Hilton is able to play without any limitations and make some big plays throughout the course of the game.

The Colts definitely need their star wide receiver to step up and come through with a big game. Every single player on the Colts’ roster has to play as hard as possible and play like this is a must win game. Going down two games to start the season against a very tough AFC would be tough for the Colts to come back from, but they certainly should take care of business tonight if they play to their full potential.

All of that being said, hearing that Hilton appears to be ready to play is very good news for the Colts and it will be interesting to see what kind of game he has.
