With seven weeks remaining in the 2015 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…
1. Tom Brady, Patriots — Tom Terrific did throw his third interception of the season (how dare he!) but the Patriots still moved to 9-0 and Brady was still solid. It helps his cause, though, that Andy Dalton and Aaron Rodgers struggled.
2. Adrian Peterson, Vikings — Somewhat quietly, the seemingly immortal 30-year-old has taken the NFL’s rushing yardage lead by a massive, 227-yard margin. He’s carrying the first-place Vikings and has a chance to overtake Brady.
3. Carson Palmer, Cardinals — Three touchdown passes in a huge performance against Seattle’s legendary defense moves the 35-year-old up a spot. Nothing but old dudes leading this list!
4. Andy Dalton, Bengals — A disappointing Monday Night Football performance once again has folks questioning whether the fifth-year quarterback can rise to big occasions. But he’ll have a chance to move back up the list with a big outing Sunday night against Palmer’s Cardinals.
5. Aaron Rodgers, Packers — It’s scary how far the struggling Rodgers has fallen. In fact, Ben Roethlisberger, Derek Carr, Tyrod Taylor and Cam Newton all have a chance to overtake the reigning MVP. He just hasn’t been himself and Green Bay has now lost three straight games to fall out of first place in the NFC North.
