Week 16 NFL game watchability rankings

Week 16 in the NFL is here, and you might be entering the weekend with your own preferences regarding which games to focus on, and which to place on the backburner.

Most of you have your favorites and fantasy players to track. But in case you’re completely neutral or need help breaking ties with regard to what to watch, we’ve ranked all 16 games from most appealing to least enticing.

1. Bengals at Broncos (Monday night, ESPN): The winner here basically clinches a first-round bye, so it’ll be huge even if neither team has a good quarterback right now.

2. Packers at Cardinals (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, FOX): Two NFC Super Bowl contenders in one hell of an offensive matchup. Tough game on the road for Green Bay, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Cards fare without Tyrann Mathieu.

3. Giants at Vikings (Sunday night, NBC): Desperation game for both teams, and a lot of stars. But no Odell Beckham Jr. Still, this should be close.

4. Redskins at Eagles (Saturday night, NFL Network): Basically a playoff game between two strong offensive teams from rabid markets.

5. Panthers at Falcons (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): Carolina’s quest for perfection is worth monitoring, especially if Atlanta puts up a fight here. And don’t be surprised if that happens.

6. Chargers at Raiders (Thursday night, NFL Network): It doesn’t really matter to either team, except there could be some strange emotions as the Raiders play what might be their last game in Oakland. Not a bad Christmas Eve companion.

7. Steelers at Ravens (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): High-flying Pittsburgh is fighting for a playoff spot on the road against a feisty division rival. Blowout potential exists here, but keep an eye.

8. Patriots at Jets (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): New England doesn’t have much to play for now but the rival Jets are desperate.

9. Colts at Dolphins (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): Indianapolis is fighting for its life on the road, but this isn’t worth watching unless it’s close in the fourth quarter.

10. Texans at Titans (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): Houston has something to play for, but the Titans don’t even have Marcus Mariota.

11. Browns at Chiefs (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): Kansas City should easily extend its crazy winning streak to nine games. Meh.

12. Rams at Seahawks (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, FOX): Blowout alert.

13. Bears at Buccaneers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): The Jameis Winston Show is nice, but there are too many solid early starts to give this any attention.

14. Jaguars at Saints (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, CBS): Not worth watching unless you have Jags or Saints in your fantasy championship.

15. Cowboys at Bills (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): Unless you have fantasy implications, stay away. Both teams are done.

16. 49ers at Lions (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): Detroit is playing good football, but there’s nothing on the line here.
