The Reactor – NFL Turned on its Head

Philadelphia Eagles 24, Buffalo Bills 31

The Eagles were supposed to be the cream of the crop this season. They’ve since proven that they are more like a coach’s nightmare. They simply haven’t come together as a team. Teams should be greater than the sum of their parts, and that’s simply not the case in Philadelphia. The Bills, on the other hand, are the definition of team. The Bills are back on track after a tough loss to Cincinnati, and they’re still looking good.

New Orleans Saints 30, Carolina Panthers 27

Cam Newton continues to impress everyone around the league. It hasn’t netted many wins yet, but they’ll follow if he keeps bringing his “A game” week in and week out. The Saints have been unimpressive to me, and they don’t look like a team that’s a contender. The strike me as a wild-card team and nothing else.

Oakland Raiders 25, Houston Texans 20

Oh the Houston Texans. They continue the “yeah but” mentality, and that’s not enough to get into the playoffs. Luckily for them, no one else in the division wanted to win today either. As for Oakland, it’s a bitter sweet day. I’m sure everyone there was playing for the boss, Al Davis, and he’d be proud. It’s a shame that he didn’t get the chance to see this team come into it’s own because they really are a solid team.

Kansas City Chiefs 28, Indianapolis Colts 24

The Chiefs got it going after a very slow start. Now, they have a 2 game winning streak, and they can start to think about making a run towards the middle and end of the season. The Colts have to be kicking themselves. They blew a big league, and they look like a terrible team. Let’s face it, their personnel department didn’t put together a good team, and they can’t win without an elite QB.

Cincinnati Bengals 30, Jacksonville Jaguars 20

The Jaguars lost a game they led most of the way. Their problem is that they can’t put together a complete game offensively. The Bengals are now 3-2, and they haven’t looked bad doing it. Could they be a dark horse to win the AFC North? Maybe, but I think we all agree it’s a little to early to be handing out division crowns.

Arizona Cardinals 10, Minnesota Vikings 34

The Vikings finally built a big lead and didn’t give it away. Make no mistake about it, these teams are both going to be watching the playoffs from their couches this year, but the Vikings are at least competitive. The Cardinals can’t even say that much. Their performances just make me remember how good Kurt Warner really was.

Seattle Seahawks 36, New York Giants 25

Eli Manning should have had himself a touchdown drive that would win the Giants the game. Instead, a bobble later the Seahawks were racing down the sideline with the winning touchdown. The Giants are in a tough spot considering their division, and that type of loss is hard to shake off. The Seahawks are doing everything they can to make me believe that they’re a decent team, and this week they may have succeeded.

Tennessee Titans 17, Pittsburgh Steelers 38

The Steelers needed to make a statement against the upstart Titans, and that’s just what they did. Frankly, I thought the Steelers would get ripped up by Matt Hasselbeck, but the Titans never really got anything going right. The Steelers are still my pick to win their division, and wins like this really help their cause.
