Ronnie Hillman believes the Denver Broncos must keep Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler started at quarterback for the Denver Broncos when Peyton Manning went down with injury. Many thought he would keep the starting job for the remainder of the season, but that didn’t end up happening. Manning got the starting job back due to some minor late season struggles from Osweiler and ended up winning his second Super Bowl.

Following that entire situation, Osweiler is set to hit free agency this offseason. Denver is expected to use their franchise tag on star pass rusher Von Miller, which will allow Osweiler to hit the open market.

Throughout the course of the 2015 NFL season, Osweiler ended up completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,967 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

At just 25 years old, the future is incredibly bright for Osweiler. Ronnie Hillman believes that the Broncos need to do everything they can to bring him back in free agency and that letting him go would be a big mistake.

There is no question that re-signing Osweiler should be a priority for the Broncos. He should be their second priority behind Miller. Having a teammate like Hillman talk about Osweiler shows just how highly his teammates view him, which is a huge step towards being a long-term starting quarterback.

It is unclear at this point in time what kind of contract Osweiler will be searching for when free agency opens up.

Denver will still have one of the best defenses in the NFL next season no matter who their quarterback is. That being said, they will want to bring a quarterback back who knows their system. Gary Kubiak is obviously comfortable with Osweiler under center, which bodes well for his chances to get a nice offer from the Broncos.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding Osweiler when free agency opens up. Denver should be the first team to reach out to him when free agency does open and should aggressively pursue getting a deal done as soon as possible.
