Week 1 is here, and so are injuries. Reports will be different this year, with the ‘probable’ tag gone. So you may be forced to wait until 90 minutes before game time before making fantasy decisions. Here, anyway, are five injuries to keep a close eye on as Sunday approaches…
Rob Gronkowski: The All-Galaxy New England Patriots tight end is “week-to-week” with a hamstring injury, and he can’t guarantee he’ll play Sunday night against the Arizona Cardinals. The Pats could be playing games here, but that’s still not ideal for temporary starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, or Gronk fantasy owners. Hope you’ve got Martellus Bennett or a tight end playing on Monday night.
Kevin White: The second-year Chicago Bears wide receiver was added to the team’s injury report on Thursday with a hamstring injury. That hurts, because Chicago is expecting big things out of its 2015 first-round pick, especially after White missed his entire rookie season. We’ll see if he makes the flight to Houston for Chicago’s Sunday matchup with the Texans.
DeVante Parker: Another young receiver with a hamstring injury, the second-year Miami Dolphins wideout didn’t practice much this week despite making the trip to Seattle for Sunday’s game with the Seahawks. It’s not looking good for Parker, which probably means more work for Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills.
Josh Doctson: The rookie Washington Redskins wide receiver has been limited in practice due to an Achilles injury, but at least he’ll have an extra day with the ‘Skins opening the season Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Joey Bosa: The rookie San Diego Chargers defensive end was already a question mark for Week 1 after missing all of training camp and the preseason, but now he’s got a minor hamstring injury and is not expected to play Sunday in Kansas City.
