The Green Bay Packers are fresh off of a solid 27-23 victory over an up-and-coming Jacksonville Jaguars’ football team. It wasn’t easy to head down to Jacksonville and knock them off, but the Packers came through with the necessary plays to begin their 2016 NFL season at 1-0.
It will be interesting to see what ends up happening next week for the Packers as they take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense seemed to be back on track after last year’s disappointments. Jordy Nelson came back after missing all of last season with a torn ACL as well and even caught a touchdown. There is a lot of room for improvement, but the offense should end up being one of the most potent units in the NFL when everything is said and done.
All of that being said, which three players, in particular, shined for the Packers this week against the Jaguars?
Davante Adams, Wide Receiver
There is no question that Davante Adams belongs on this list after the way that he played on Sunday. He caught three passes for 50 yards, including an impressive touchdown catch with a defender draped all over him. Adams was on the roster bubble all offseason long, but the Packers made the right choice to keep him.
Morgan Burnett, Safety
Morgan Burnett is without question one of the most underrated safeties around the NFL. He had a big game against Jacksonville, recording nine total tackles to go along with a sack. If the Packers want their defense to take a step forward from last year, Burnett is going to be a key piece of their success.
Jordy Nelson, Wide Receiver
Perhaps the biggest excitement for the Packers this week was seeing how Jordy Nelson looked in his return from injury. He caught six passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in his return. Nelson is going to be a huge key for the Packers’ offense and seems to be back to his old self.
