Throughout the 2016 NFL regular season, we’re ranking the league’s top 10 quarterbacks. Here’s how we view things after Week 3…
1. Matt Ryan, Falcons: The league’s highest-rated passer is also averaging a league-high 9.4 yards per attempt and ranks third with a completion percentage of 70.9. Plus, he’s not making mistakes this year.
2. Philip Rivers, Chargers: The oft-maligned veteran is off to a hell of a start with five touchdowns, zero picks, a 109.5 passer rating and a completion percentage of 68.7 despite a lack of support in San Diego.
3. Drew Brees, Saints: Speaking of a lack of support, Brees is on pace to pass for over 5,600 yards because nobody else is doing much of anything in New Orleans. Eight touchdowns, one pick and a 105.1 rating on a bad team.
4. Eli Manning, Giants: Manning’s three interceptions hurt him, but the guy has completed 71.0 percent of his passes and has been fantastic on deep balls.
5. Carson Wentz, Eagles: The rookie has yet to turn the ball over in three Philadelphia victories, and he ranks seventh in the league with a 103.8 passer rating. He looks the part, which is amazing considering he entered the league extremely raw.
6. Sam Bradford, Vikings: Only two starts, but the former No. 1 overall pick has three touchdowns, no picks, a 107.8 passer rating and a completion percentage of 67.8 for the 3-0 Vikings.
7. Aaron Rodgers, Packers: Big rebound game against the division rival Lions for Rodgers, who despite a slow start has seven touchdowns to only one interception for the 2-1 Packers.
8. Matthew Stafford, Lions: The former top pick has a 105.0 passer rating despite a lack of support in Detroit.
9. Derek Carr, Raiders: The third-year quarterback rather quietly has five touchdowns to one pick and a 99.1 rating for the 2-1 Raiders.
10. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers: What the hell happened against the Eagles? We’ll give him a one-week pass, but Big Ben has thrown four interceptions while completing fewer than 60 percent of his passes. If the league’s 21st highest-rated passer doesn’t bounce back ASAP, he’ll disappear from this list.
