NFL quarterback power rankings: Week 5 edition

Throughout the 2016 NFL regular season, we’re ranking the league’s top 10 quarterbacks. Here’s how we view things after Week 4…

1. Matt Ryan, Falcons: He leads the league in basically every key rate-based category for the red-hot Falcons. Career year in the making.

2. Sam Bradford, Vikings: The league’s second highest-rated passer has yet to turn over the ball for the perfect Vikings.

3. Derek Carr, Raiders: The league’s third highest-rated passer has nine touchdowns to only one interception, and he’s come up big time and again in key spots.

4. Carson Wentz, Eagles: The remarkable rookie has led the Eagles to three straight turnover-free victories.

5. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers: Kind of an up-and-down start for the league’s best deep passer.

6. Philip Rivers, Chargers: The Bolts are a mess in spite of Rivers, who has thrown seven touchdown passes to one interception thus far.

7. Aaron Rodgers, Packers: He had a huge bounce-back effort in Week 3 and was off in Week 4. Something tells me he’ll either climb or drop off this list in Week 5.

8. Andy Dalton, Bengals: He hasn’t been overly consistent, but Dalton’s been better on deep balls than anyone else in football thus far. He ranks second in the league with an 8.5 yards-per-attempt average.

9. Drew Brees, Saints: His team sucks, which hurts his numbers and his case. Still, Brees is one of the best and his stats still put him in the top 10.

10. Russell Wilson, Seahawks: He’s been limited by injuries and poor pass protection, and yet Wilson still has just the one interception and a 99.3 passer rating for the 3-1 Seahawks.
