TGS weekly MVP tracker: Matt Ryan moves in front

With 13 whole weeks remaining in the 2016 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…

1. Matt Ryan, Falcons: It’s coming all together for Ryan, who leads the NFL in completion percentage, touchdowns, yards per attempt and passer rating. His Falcons are 3-1 and he’s thrown just two interceptions.

2. Carson Wentz, Eagles: A bye week keeps the rookie sensation in the No. 2 spot. He’s yet to turn the ball over for 3-0 Philadelphia.

3. Von Miller, Broncos: The NFL sack leader had a fairly quiet game against the Buccaneers in Week 4, but he still had half a sack and he’s still been carrying an unbeaten team.

4. Sam Bradford, Vikings: The Minnesota defense has come up big, but it might also be coming together for Bradford. The 2010 No. 1 overall pick is the league’s second highest-rated passer. He’s yet to turn the ball over for an unbeaten team.

5. Aaron Rodgers, Packers: Coming off a bye, so I’ll repeat what I said here last week. A huge bounce-back performance against the division rival Lions really boosted Rodgers, who despite a lot of criticism has seven touchdowns to only one interception for the 2-1 Packers.

6. Derek Carr, Raiders: He’s been clutch for 3-1 Oakland, and he’s the league’s third highest-rated passer with nine touchdown passes and only one interception.

7. Russell Wilson, Seahawks: Dude has been under immense pressure and is playing hurt, and yet he’s thrown just one pick and has a 99.3 passer rating for the 3-1 Seahawks.

8. Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys: Where would the 3-1 Cowboys be without the NFL rushing leader? The top rookie of the year candidate has been on fire the last two weeks, taking a ton of pressure off of young quarterback Dak Prescott.
