Throughout the 2016 NFL regular season, we’re ranking the league’s top 10 quarterbacks. Here’s how we view things after Week 6…
1. Matt Ryan, Falcons: The league’s highest-rated passer has a yards-per-attempt average of 9.9, which is nearly two yards higher than the next guy on the list (Philip Rivers, 8.2).
2. Sam Bradford, Vikings: Coming off the bye, the league’s second highest-rated passer has yet to turn over the ball for the perfect Vikings.
3. Philip Rivers, Chargers: He didn’t have a huge night against the Broncos, but it was still a turnover-free performance against a killer defense. Oh, and a San Diego victory.
4. Matthew Stafford, Lions: The league’s third highest-rated passer ranks second in the NFL with a completion percentage of 68.9.
5. Dak Prescott, Cowboys: The steady rookie still hasn’t committed a turnover for 5-1 Dallas. He ranks second only to Ryan with a QBR of 82.8.
6. Russell Wilson, Seahawks: The numbers aren’t quite there, but he’s been the most accurate passer in the league under pressure and he has just one interception through five games. Considering he’s far from healthy, that’s enough.
7. Drew Brees, Saints: That was a hell of a performance in a shootout victory over the Panthers in Week 6. The 37-year-old hasn’t been consistent, but he’s got top-10 numbers across the board despite a major lack of support. The best deep passer in the NFL deserves the No. 7 spot.
8. Derek Carr, Raiders: Twelve touchdowns, three picks, top 10 in terms of completion percentage and passer rating. Oh, and he’s come up big in key moments for 4-2 Oakland.
9. Carson Wentz, Eagles: The rookie No. 2 overall pick has really fallen back to earth the last couple weeks, but he still has just one turnover and the NFL’s eighth-highest passer rating.
10. Brian Hoyer, Bears: With the league’s third-highest completion percentage, seventh-highest passer rating and only one turnover in four starts, the veteran journeyman edges out Ben Roethlisberger.
