This weekly segment will highlight the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.
1. Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs
Not only did he have a pick six in the game earlier, he intercepted Matt Ryan on a 2 point conversion and ran it back with the score at 28-27 to give the Chiefs the 2 points they’d need for the win.
2. Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens
The “Joe Flacco is elite” talk may long be in the rear-view mirror, but he was his Super Bowl form against the Dolphins in a blowout win. He finished 36 of 47 for 381 yards and 4 touchdowns.
3. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
On 8 targets he lit up the Falcons for 8 catches and 140 yards. He may not be talked about as much as some but he’s one of the best receiving tight ends in the league and he’s on pace for a career year.
4. Akiem Hicks, DE, Chicago Bears
The Bears won comfortably 26-6, but Hicks’s overall play and 3 sacks were a big reason for the 49ers’ inability to score.
5. Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts
A very clean and solid game for Luck in a blowout win over the Jets. He went 22 of 28 for 278 yards, 4 touchdowns and added 26 yards rushing. The Colts didn’t need to pile on stats in this 41-10 embarrassment, but Luck could have really boosted his numbers further if they didn’t get a big lead so early.
