Welcome back Randy Moss

According to Mike Florio, Randy Moss wants back in the NFL. Are we surprised? Not even a little. Frankly, I was shocked when he retired. That along with the historic fall of Terrell Owens produced a quiet season in 2011 from the shenanigans point of view, but it seems that 2012 will be a different story.

Moss said, in his Ustream announcement, “I just wanna go to a team and play some football.” That’s good, because we just want to see you play football too.

To this point in his career, Randy Moss has played for the Vikings (twice), the Raiders, the Patriots, and the Titans. He’s accumulated an impressive 954 receptions for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns.

Some of the most notable Randy Moss moments have come in recent years, especially in his time with the New England Patriots. As you may remember, 2010 was a strange year for Moss. After being traded to the Vikings, Moss was waived after playing in just 4 games for the Vikings. The following clip may be the longest standing memory of the entire exchange between Moss, the Patriots, and the Vikings.

It’s unclear where Randy Moss will play in 2012, but he will almost certainly land on his feet. Unlike Owens, Moss is healthy, and he’s likely to be in very good physical shape after taking a season away from football. No, he’s not the most likable guy on the field, but he’s one of the funnest, most talented players on the field to watch. So, I hope you join me in saying, welcome back Mr. Moss.
