Over the last few days, rumors of a “Ray Rice like” video featuring Dez Bryant have been heating up.
ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that a video does exist (via Larry Brown Sports):
A video of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver doing something that sounds incriminating does, in fact, exist — at least according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
During an appearance on the “Carmen and Jurko Show” on ESPN 1000 in Chicago Wednesday, Schefter said that there is a video and that he has been working on it since September. Schefter would not go into detail but did say “yeah” when asked if he has heard about the video and knows what is on it. He has not, however, seen the alleged footage.
“I have not seen it,” Schefter said, per Kevin O’Brien of The Sun Times. “I’ll say this: I’ve been working on this since September. … There’s a lot involved.”
Schefter has been on this since September? That’s a long time to hunt for something with no results.
They say “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” and there is a lot of smoke here. The big question is what is on the video (if it does exist) and who’s covering it up?
With outlets like Deadspin publicly offering to pay for the video, you have to think it’s only time until it leaks.
Teams have until March 2nd to use their franchise tag and Bryant is certainly a top candidate for the Dallas Cowboys tag. If this “rumored” video doesn’t come out before then, will it cause Jerry Jones to think twice about whether or not to put the tag on Bryant?
The chatter obviously got to Dez last week when he released this statement via social media…

Since then, rumors have ramped up with the likes of Mike Florio and Schefter talking openly about them on the radio.
This is going to be an interesting story as it unfolds. Hopefully, it’s not as bad as it sounds for Dez.
