Tom Brady might be the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history, but it’s also worth noting that his Facebook game is sick.
The Patriots quarterback doesn’t even have a Twitter account but has over 3 million friends on Facebook, and he’s not just winning a popularity contest. Brady is legitimately engaging, funny and entertaining on there, and he’s once again been dominating this week. He’s been updating fans on his family vacation in Central America, which has included getting buried in sand by his kids and a cliff dive that scared the hell out of Patriots Nation.
Oh, and in the Bahamas, he played some pickup basketball with Michael Jordan.
No biggie.
But Brady won social media on Wednesday by using the Jordan basketball game to really screw with his fans, April Fools’ Day-style:
“Jordan’s crossover is no joke,” he wrote.
That’s gold. And here I was thinking Peyton Manning was the funnier active legendary quarterback.
And it sure beats what we got from other NFL players on what truly is one of the stupidest “holidays” of the year. Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin somehow thought it would be funny to joke about getting a DUI, while free-agent receiver Greg Jennings sort of embarrassed himself by lamely suggesting he had signed a contract somewhere.
Don’t quit your day jobs.
Brady’s still better at his day job than social media, but at least we know that when he does finally have to walk away from the field, he might still be dominating our newsfeeds.
