2011 NFL Power Rankings: Week 9

Notes from Shane

The Chargers took a big hit in their Monday night loss to the Chiefs. It’ll be tough for them to stop the bleeding as they play host to the Green Bay Packers this weekend. I finally rewarded the Chiefs for their highly impressive four game winning streak.

Notes from Will

Sticking my neck out: Keeping the Saints above the 49ers isn’t going to be popular, but head to head I just can’t rank New Orleans and their NFL-leading offense behind SF. Until proven otherwise, NFC will come down to GB vs NOR.

Biggest Risers: Eagles (+7). With a dominating performance coming off the bye, Philly has become the team that nobody wants to play. Just in time to save their season.

Biggest Fallers: Patriots and Chargers (-6). But Chargers could fall even farther, Pats could rebound quickly.

Notes from Derek

Rising: 49ers. Week in and week out Harbaugh has his guys playing tough and his game plan is working. A Steady dose of Gore and not letting Alex Smith lose the game. Most notably the 49er defense is smashing opponents in the mouth.

Falling: Chargers. This team is underachieving more than any other this season. Poor coaching is holding them back and Phillip Rivers looks to have actually taken a step back this season. Not a good combination. MNF against the Chiefs was evidence of this.
