Andrew Luck Power Rankings, Week 11: Colts Are Simply The Best (At Losing)

As the beautiful Tina Turner once sang, “You’re Simply the Best.” All that’s missing is the fat lady singing with her, because this competition is pretty much over. The Colts took a commanding two-game lead this weekend, making them the far and away favorite to land Sir Andrew Luck.

The Colts had their easiest game on the schedule against the Jaguars at home and like they have in previous weeks came up very flat. The Colts have showed no signs of life at all since a close loss to Pittsburgh in week 3. At this point, 0-16 looks very realistic.

The one and only thing that would stop the Colts from landing Andrew Luck is Peyton Manning. Even that however seems to be a stretch however because some are even suggesting the Colts might attempt to trade Peyton if they draft Luck.

The Colts turned to Dan Orlovsky late in the game that could have provided a spark for the team but obviously did not. Orlovsky is most well known for not knowing where the lines of the end zone start and stop.

That being said until further notice the Andrew Luck power rankings have been put on hold because right now in place 1…2….3 is clearly the Colts.

That being said here at This Given Sunday, we never look to disappoint so we have come up with an alternative. The race for Matt Barkley or as some people on Twitter might tweet, #BADFORBARKLEY

For those of you who don’t know Matthew, he is the starting QB for the USC Trojan and is a 6’2 220 pound blonde gunslinger.

Barkley originally was seen as the 3rd best QB in this draft, however his recent play may have jumped him ahead of Landry Jones.

With Andrew Luck now a member of the Indianapolis Colts, I present to you the Matt Barkley Power Rankings:

1) Miami Dolphins (2-7)

What they have done well:

  • Maintain a 2-7 record
  • Have a challenging schedule down the stretch
  • Still have Tony Sparano as their head coach

What they haven’t done well:

  • This team is starting to become good
  • Back to back wins are never a good thing
  • Reggie Bush would appear to be a good player
  • Brandon Marshall has put together a couple of nice games
  • Matt Moore might be better then Chad Henne
  • The defense finally woke up

2) St Louis Rams (2-7)

What they have done well:

  • Drop a very winnable game against Arizona to vault ahead of them in these rankings
  • Attempt to turn Sam Bradford into the next Alex Smith by changing offensive coordinators every year
  • Start only 2 of their original 5 offensive linemen
  • Send nine cornerbacks to the Injured Reserve

What they haven’t done well:

  • Won a very losable game to the Cleveland Browns
  • Keep giving the ball to Steven Jackson and letting him run
  • Remembered how to play defense
  • Blocking field goals and punts… who does that?
  • Play in the NFC West, where they might stumble into a couple more wins

3) Minnesota Vikings (2-7)

What they have done well:

  • Get absolutely destroyed by the Packers in prime time
  • Fail to sign their most talented receiver
  • Commit to rebuilding by sucking their way to a top draft pick

What they haven’t done well:

  • Already drafted their franchise quarterback
  • Cut Bernard Berrian, who was an integral part of sucking their way to a top draft pick

4) Carolina Panthers (2-7)

What they have done well:

  • Regress badly on defense, despite having a defensive-minded head coach
  • Let the Tennessee Titans get into Cam Newton’s head
  • Play in the very tough NFC South

What they haven’t done well:

  • Already drafted their franchise quarterback.
  • Gave Newton the reins of Rob Chudzinski’s downfield offense
  • Turned Steve Smith back into an elite receiver (although no one saw that coming)

5) Washington Redskins (3-7)

What they have done well:

  • Lost to the Dolphins
  • Wavered back and forth, failing to find an adequate QB
  • Also can’t decide on a RB
  • Been inconsistent all year
  • Santana Moss remains injured

What they haven’t done well:

  • Still have more wins then the Dolphins
  • Play in the messed-up NFC East
  • Are capable of showing up on any given Sunday

6) Seattle Seahawks (3-6)

What they have done well:

  • Still don’t have a solid QB
  • Wildly inconsistent play from week to week

What they haven’t done well:

  • Winning a dominant home game against a playoff contender
  • Have the 12th man on the field
  • Letting Marshawn Lynch go into beast mode
  • Play in the NFC West, where they might stumble into a couple more wins

Also In the hunt: Arizona (3-6), Cleveland (3-6), Philadelphia (3-6), Jacksonville (3-6)
