Baltimore 16, San Francisco 6 – He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother by the Hollies

For the first time in NFL history two brothers met face to face as NFL head coaches. The game was given the title the “The Harbowl” as brothers John and Jim battled it out on Thursday night for some turkey day football. In a matchup where a 9-1 team took on a 7-3 team most didn’t really know what to expect. There was some thought the 49ers would be able to go to the east coast again and leave with a victory and there were some who thought the Ravens were about to give the 49ers a major wakeup call.

Everyone expected a tight defensive gave and that’s pretty much what happened however it was Joe Flacco who did just enough to out duel Alex Smith and it was the Ravens defense who really stepped up to the plate without their leader Ray Lewis for the 2nd consecutive week.

Ravens have been a hard team to analyze this year as they have played down to their opponent a couple more times than you’d like, however have shown up in a big way whenever an important game hits their schedule.

It will be interesting to see how the 49ers will rebound from this game as there is no doubt this team should still go into cruise control winning their division.

Dallas 20, Miami 19 – Living on the edge by Aerosmith

The Dolphins were 5-1 on Thanksgiving and 3-1 against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and if they had a couple of more plays go their way this turkey day they might have added another W to that record. However it seemed almost start to finish they were always one play away.

Matt Moore, who has been terrific the past 3 weeks, started off a little shaky but then found his rhythm later on in the game connecting on two deep bombs with Brandon Marshall. Marshall was practically wrestled down to the ground on one while still being able to complete a gorgeous touchdown grab. However Tony Sparano went to conservative mode like he has in so many games in the past and Romo made him pay. Romo drove seamlessly down the field for the game winning drive thanks to the leg of Dan Bailey.

While the Cowboys don’t have much to be proud about as their secondary got abused and they got outplayed by a 3-8 team, at the end of the day they did what was needed to get the W.

Tony Sparano let another game slip under his fingers as surely dolphins fans will be calling for his head again this morning.

Green Bay 27 Detroit 17 – Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now by McFadden & Whitehead

Once again like Mr.Suh I have pulled a cheap and a dirty shot by choosing a disco song in this blog. However there really aint no stopping Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

After the first half most were impressed as despite a handful of Lions mistakes they seemed very much in the game. The Lions controlled the first half and were even successful in slowing down the Packers, but they never really took advantage of their opportunities.

Then the clock struck midnight and Aaron Rodgers decided to try. Rodgers rolled out on a little play action and hit a streaking James Jones for a deep touchdown strike and that was all she wrote. Once the Packers started rolling it wasn’t even a ball game anymore.

16-0 is becoming more of a possibility every week.
