It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll But I Like It! Week 6 NFL Recap

San Francisco 25 Detroit 19 – Give Peace A Chance by John Lennon

Never mind the game that was played but how about the WWE brawl between the two coaches after the game. In what most likely will be the most talked about headline from this Sunday we saw a very odd WWE type plot line after what was a very entertaining game.

It’s hard to fully explain what happen after the game but to sum it up, Harbaugh was really excited and obnoxiously slapped the Lions coach pretty hard which led to quite the scrum and scene at Ford Field.

If you haven’t seen the video of it, go on Youtube now!

Now back to the actual football that was played, well who would have thought last year that the game of the week this week would be between the Lions and 49ers. Hats off to Jim Harbaugh who had his players ready to go on both sides of the field and they delivered a hard fought win against a pretty strong Lions team.

Alex Smith did exactly what was asked of him and the 49ers D was able to keep the very exciting Lions offense in check.

Both teams were impressive and we can only hope this becomes a potential playoff preview.

Philadelphia 20 Washington 13 – All Right Now by Bad Company

We have not shied away from sharing our fare share of hate words to “dream team” but it looks like the team Andy Reid had in mind this off-season finally showed up. Finally after a couple of brutal weeks the Eagles that will all expected showed up. Led by the legs of Michael Vick and the shiftiness of LeSean McCoy the Eagles were able to dominate the Redskins.

The Redskins looked absolutely terrible, and the BAD Rex we all know and love finally showed his true colours this week. The Eagles secondary which has underperformed all year were able to pick off Grossman 4 times.

With Dallas losing this week, the Eagles aren’t too far behind and if they can get some consistent play from Michael Vick this could be a turning point in their season.

Chicago 39 Minnesota 10 – Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson

Sunday night didn’t make for much of a game, it was all Chicago all night. Another historic performance from soon to be hall of famer Devin Hester who not only brought back another kick-off for a TD but also had 97 yards receiving and added a receiving TD.

Jay Cutler had a much more enjoyable week as he had time to get the ball out and was able to pick apart the Vikings D. McNabb was terrible yet again and late in the game Mr. Ponder made his rookie debut and actually looked pretty good.

We expect Ponder to take over the starting job moving forward.

New England 20 Dallas 16 – Heroes by David Bowie

Rob Ryan was able to slow down Tom Brady again, but on the last drive of the game in a home game you knew if Tom Brady got the ball he would find a way to win and that’s actually what he did.

Tom Terrific might have been confused most of the game with Ryan’s scheme but when it counted the most Tom prevailed.

Tony Romo played fairly well in a game dominated by defense, however when it mattered the most he was only able to put 3 points on the board instead of 7.

It will be interesting to see how this talented Cowboys team bounces back after a tough loss to the Pats.
