Time to Rock N Roll playoff style!

Denver Broncos 29, Pittsburgh Steelers 23– Do you believe in magic?  By The Lovin Spoonful

Everything you thought would happen in the first half in this game, well throw it out the window because the exact opposite happened. The Broncos, led by their spiritual leader and QB Tim Tebow, came out of the gates on fire. Tebow was on his way to what people never thought he could do and beat the Steelers.

Tebow basically gave a big middle finger to all his haters, throwing for over 180 yards in the first half. Tebow connected on 3 passes over 40 yards in the first half alone. Per usual when Tebow is on his game, the defense picks up its game and it did exactly that shutting down a very hobbled and banged up Big Ben.

Big Ben was off his game and the Broncos took advantage taking a 20-6 lead into half time almost playing a picture perfect first half.

Despite a rough first half, Big Ben was able to suck it up like he always does and put on a show despite being banged up.

Big Ben found Cotchery on a deep ball, where Cotchery made a great grab to tie up the game at 23 late in the 4th.

Tebow got the ball back but was unable to solve the Steelers’ defense and had to punt the ball back to Big Ben. Despite Big Ben being hot and driving his Steelers down the field the Broncos D was able to stop them just short, forcing overtime.

The Broncos won the toss and 12 seconds later, the internet and the world exploded as Tim Tebow found Thomas on his 2nd deep touchdown of the day to eliminate the Steelers in the playoffs.

New Orleans Saints 45, Detroit Lions 28 – Ants Marching by The Dave Matthews Band

The Saints continued their dominance and remain a very legit super bowl contender.

This game was pretty much everything that it was hyped up to be, we got to see an old-fashioned shootout won by Drew Brees. Brees continued to pile on after a record breaking year with a 466 yard performance, and the two teams combined for more than a thousand total yards.

Brees continued to do what he has done all year: completely shattering any defender who tried to slow him down.

The Lions came out in the first half and played pretty well, but they were simply not able to keep up with the Saints in the second half as they missed on the few opportunities the Saints gave them.

Next week should be a very interesting match up as the Saints travel to San Fran to face a very solid defense.

New York Giants 24, Atlanta Falcons 2 – You Really Got Me by the Kinks

This game was supposed to be an exciting duo between Matt Ryan against Eli Manning;  instead it turned out to be a boring game in which the Giants completely dominated the Falcons.

Matt Ryan’s playoff struggles continued and he didn’t get much help from his coach or offensive coordinator who called terrible games, failing to convert on two 4th and 1’s.

Eli Manning continued his very impressive season as he played a very solid game with a 72% percent completion rating and 3 touchdowns in his first playoff home win.

The Falcons O-line got dominated by the awesome D-line of New York, and Michael Turner was never able to get in the game and become a factor.

New York looked pretty solid but will have their hands full next week against Green Bay.

Houston Texans 31, Cincinnati Bengals 10 – Keep The Dream Alive by Oasis

This game was the tale of two different halves.

In the first half the Bengals controlled play and had the ball about to head into half time with a 10-10 score and momentum.

Then JJ Watt happened! The rookie made an amazing play bringing back an interception for 7 and completely changing the game.

From that point the Texans never looked back as they fed the ball to Arian Foster and he did the rest. The Texans looked pretty impressive in the second half, connecting in all aspects including rookie TJ Yates.

While the Bengals weren’t pushovers, they certainly aren’t the Ravens who the Texans will need to face next week. But for now, the dream is still alive.
