Kam Chancellor announced earlier this week that he will end his holdout and return to the Seattle Seahawks. He was immediately expected top play in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, which is a huge addition to the Seahawks’ defensive secondary. Seattle has officially moved him to the active roster and he will play in Week 3.

Pete Carroll and the Seahawks may still have a lot of talent on their defense, but they don’t have the leadership that Chancellor brings to the field each and every game. Chancellor is also one of the best tacklers in the NFL and is more than capable of forcing fumbles and covering any receiver that comes his way. He is one of the best defensive backs in the NFL and adding him into the mix is going to make things even more difficult on the Bears’ offense.
Jay Cutler looks like he will miss some time with a hamstring injury, which means that backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen will have to face the Seattle defense this week.
Last season with the Seahawks, Chancellor recorded 78 tackles, a forced fumble, an interception and six defensed passes. Those numbers show the type of impact that Chancellor can have on games and they will be a welcome addition to the 2015 version of the defense. He will likely be able to make an immediate impact, as he has kept himself in game shape during the entire holdout.
Seattle should be able to take care of business against a fairly poor Bears team this week. They are returning home after two tough road losses, although they definitely should have defeated the St. Louis Rams in Week 1. That being said, they have dug themselves a small hole early on in the year and have to figure out a way to get out of it.
Expect to see Chancellor come in and make a huge difference for the Seahawks and help them get their first win of the season. Seattle is going to be a contender in the NFC once they can get their issues sorted out, but getting one of their defensive stars back on the field is going to be a big piece of the puzzle.
