Listing the best landing spots for La’El Collins

Either La’El Collins is the most unlucky NFL draft prospect in history or he’s about to get in serious trouble. So far, though, he is still not suspected of having done anything wrong. Because of this murder case hanging over his head, Collins went undrafted over the weekend despite carrying a first round grade. If he’s cleared, Collins immediately becomes the most coveted UDFA in the history of the NFL. He would garnish interest 1st round from 32 NFL teams. But which spots make the most sense for him?

New Orleans Saints

Collins is from Baton Rouge which is only an hour away from New Orleans, this fit makes a lot of sense if he wants to remain close to home. He could compete for the starting spot at left guard immediately left vacant by Ben Grubbs and likely become a starter. The only thing standing in the way here is if Collins wants to play tackle. The Saints drafted Andrus Peat and have two clear starters, so he would have to accept playing guard – which he is a good fit for.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Not too far from home, offensive line is a huge need for the Jags. They did draft A. J. Cann, but Collins could easily compete with Cann at guard as well as at a tackle spot.

Tennessee Titans

Right tackle is a big need for the Titans and Collins could start overnight. The Titans didn’t address this need in the draft.

Denver Broncos

Ty Sambrailo was their 2nd round pick at a position of need, but everyone had Collins rated higher. What could be better than entering the league blocking for Peyton Manning?

Dallas Cowboys

This was a position of need for the Cowboys in terms of depth and they addressed it in the 3rd round. Protecting Romo is critical to their success so expect the Cowboys to make a push. If they’re ok with Randy Gregory, they’re ok with a cleared La’El Collins.

Atlanta Falcons

Still just a short flight away from Baton Rouge, the Falcons need to protect Matt Ryan. If Collins eventually wants to become a left tackle in the league, the Falcons would give him a clear path to starting in short order.
