Nick Foles missed last week’s game in favor of Case Keenum as the starting quarterback for the St. Louis Rams. It wasn’t a very happy benching for Foles, but he will get a chance to prove himself again in Week 12. According to a report, Keenum will miss this week’s game due to injury and the Rams will start Foles.
Throughout the 2015 season so far, Foles has completed 56.6 percent of his passes in nine game. He has thrown for 1,678 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions.
He simply hasn’t been the playmaking quarterback that many were expecting him to be when he was originally acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles
At 26 years old, there is still some hope that he will rebound from his slow start to the season. Foles was at one point a couple years back considered to be one of the top young quarterbacks in the game. Since then, things have been going downhill and there haven’t been many flashes of the potential that he had shown.
St. Louis is in major need for a win this week against the Cincinnati Bengals. It is going to be very difficult for the Rams to pull off that win, but Foles has a shot to win back the starting job.
If he can come through with a big game and lead the Rams to a win, he will be right back in the starting quarterback role. Jeff Fisher needs someone to step up and become a leader for his offense. Keenum certainly isn’t capable of being a legitimate No. 1 quarterback in the NFL, which means that Foles is the Rams’ only option.
Expect to see Foles come through with a decent game for the Rams and to give his team a chance to pull off a win.
