Peyton Manning will take pay cut; can earn money back with Super Bowl win

One of the big stories of the off-season has been if Peyton Manning would come back to play in 2015 and then it became if Denver would want him back at his current salary. Both of those items have finally been decided. Yes, Peyton Manning wants to come back. No, the Broncos don’t want him back at his current salary.

But they do want him back with a $4 million pay cut.

So Peyton Manning is back in the fold with a $4 million savings for the Broncos. What about that $4 million? There is still a chance that Manning can earn that money back.

If the Broncos win both the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl, then Manning gets the $4 million back. It’s a nice incentive and the Broncos did get to the 2014 Super Bowl (where they got absolutely waxed by Seattle) but they didn’t make it out of the divisional round of the playoffs this year.

Will that $4 million that Peyton has agreed to forgo be enough to help the Broncos get back to the Super Bowl?
