With nine whole weeks remaining in the 2015 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…
1. Tom Brady, Patriots — With another stellar performance in another one-sided victory, Brady — who leads the NFL with a passer rating of 115.8 and has thrown 20 touchdown passes with just one interception — is starting to run away with this thing.
2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers — Green Bay’s offense has fallen into a bit of a rut and Rodgers just isn’t putting points up like he was earlier this season. He’s still got a chance, but the trajectory isn’t great.
3. Andy Dalton, Bengals — He found a new way to win in Pittsburgh and he continues to lead an unbeaten team as the NFL’s fourth highest-rated passer.
4. Carson Palmer, Cardinals — Another stellar performance despite a slow start on the road, and another victory for the solid Cards. Palmer might not have an MVP run in him, but he’s having the best season of his career.
5. Cam Newton, Panthers — Wasn’t pretty in the rain, but Newton made big plays when it mattered as Carolina beat the Colts to move to 7-0. Imagine this guy with a decent set of weapons?
6. Derek Carr, Raiders — Where would 4-3 Oakland be without Carr, who quietly has 15 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 105.7 passer rating?
