TGS weekly MVP tracker: Rodgers and Brady neck and neck

With 12 whole weeks remaining in the 2015 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…

1. Tom Brady, Patriots — Aaron Rodgers had a bit of an off day against the Rams while Brady is still perfect with 11 touchdowns, no picks, no losses and a league-leading passer rating of 121.5.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers — His rating is only a few points back and he’s got two more touchdown passes than Brady, but those two picks hurt. Still, it’s a close call with Green Bay at 5-0 and New England at 4-0.

3. Andy Dalton, Bengals — He’s not going away, at least until Cincinnati plays a prime-time game. For now, Dalton is the league’s third highest-rated passer and the Bengals are running away with the NFC North at 5-0.

4. Carson Palmer, Cardinals — Still not sure he’ll be able to sustain this but Palmer is off to his best-ever start with 13 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 114.0 rating as the Cards continue to destroy opponents.

Also in contention but not really because they’re crossing each other out…

5. Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell, Steelers — Bell has been the best back in the AFC since returning from suspension and is the only reason the Steelers beat the Chargers Monday, while Roethlisberger remains the league’s fifth highest-rated passer. We’re really seeing how lost Pittsburgh would be without him if not for Bell.

6. Matt Ryan, Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones, Falcons — The hottest trio in football has Atlanta at 5-0.
