The NFL officially released the schedule for the 2015 season on Tuesday night. Many teams are already looking ahead and circling their calendars for the big matchups that await. Many games will feature epic battles sure to not disappoint and here are the ten games we are most looking forward to:
10. Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, 9/13
This could be one of the most terrible games to watch all season. But then again, it could be Marcus Mariota vs. Jameis Winston to start the season. We’ll have to hope the stars align on this one but it has nice potential.
9. New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, 1/3/16
The Panthers have ascended to the top of the division lately but the Saints and Falcons matchup is for deep south bragging rights and is one of the most underrated rivalries in all of sports. It has a lot more history than people realize, too. This week 17 matchup could easily have divisional title or playoff implications and these games seem to always come down to the wire between these two.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots on Thursday, 9/10
This is a big time season opener as the NFL will start with a bang. The Steelers will be hungry to make up for a disappointing end to their 2014 campaign and we should expect them to give the Patriots all they can handle. Knowing Belichick, though, they’ll be ready.
7. New York Giants vs. New York Jets on Sunday, 12/6
Who is the home team, anyway? This may be a rare AFC-NFC battle, but the rivalry is a good one and it should be for a really spirited contest between the fan bases.
6. Buffalo Bills at New York Jets on Thursday, 11/12
A Bills-Jets game this late in the season on a Thursday sounds pretty awful, actually. But Rob Ryan returning to face the Jets? The drama will make this a much watch.
5. Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, 9/20
This is a great rivalry with deep seeded hatred anyway. Add the whole DeMarco Murray factor to this offseason and the stakes are raised.
4. New England Patriots at Denver Broncos on Sunday, 11/29
Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning. Need we say more? And enjoy it because this may be the very last time they face off unless they see each other again in the playoffs.
3. Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, 10/1
Normally the Thursday night games provide little quality and excitement. We have to make an exception in feeling that way for this one, though. This matchup always brings the pain as it’s arguably the best rivalry the NFL has to offer.
2. Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers on Sunday, 9/20
If the NFC Championship game is any indication of how this one will go, it’s a must watch. You know the Packers will be hungry to atone for how that one ended hosting the Seahawks on Sunday night.
1. Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, 11/8
This will be a Peyton Manning return to his old stomping round going up against his heir to the throne in Andrew Luck. How this game didn’t make it as a prime time matchup immediately is shocking.
