Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are set to face off against the Minnesota Vikings in NFL Week 17 action tonight. The game will be on Sunday Night Football and it is by far the most anticipated game of the day. Whoever ends up winning the game will take him the NFC North division title.
While there is a lot of pressure on both teams, Rodgers is excited for the game and it is exactly what he wanted.
“Yeah, that’s how you want it though,” Rodgers said. “It’s been the last couple years we’ve had a chance to play for the division you know, at Chicago and at home last year. You know that’s how you want it. That’s why we play the game, it’s for big games like this. It’s a playoff mindset and we’ve got to make sure we’re ready to play.”
That may not really be how the Packers would have “wanted” it as their goal coming into the season was to earn home field advantage throughout the entire postseason. Despite that fact, they have struggled in a big way and are still in a position to win the division. Rodgers has to like that fact.
Throughout the course of the 2015 NFL season, Rodgers has struggled a bit. It has been his worst all-around season since he originally took over the starting job. Even though he has “struggled” a bit, he is still one of the top producing quarterbacks in the league and has taken care of the football.
Rodgers has completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 3,530 yards, 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Green Bay will need Rodgers to come through with a big game tonight to knock off the Vikings. They do have the advantage of the game being played at Lambeau Field, but Minnesota is used to play games at Lambeau late in the season. Rodgers and the Packers are favored to win the game, but it could go either way.
Expect to see a close game all the way through and to see Rodgers step up for his team tonight.
