Terrelle Pryor made the position switch from quarterback to wide receiver a couple years back and will be asked to show his full transformation this week for the Cleveland Browns. After Corey Coleman went down with an injury, Pryor will be a key part of the Browns’ offensive game plan this week against the Miami Dolphins.
What should fantasy football owners expect from Pryor and does he deserve consideration to be in your lineup this week?
Throughout the first two weeks of the 2016 season with the Browns, Pryor has caught six passes for 100 yards but hasn’t caught a touchdown. He has made the transition fairly smoothly and it will be interesting to see how he looks with an expanded role this week. Miami’s defense is porous to say the least, but the Browns will have rookie quarterback Cody Kessler under center.
At 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds, Pryor will be one of the best options for Kessler against the Dolphins. Hue Jackson and the Browns’ coaching staff won’t be asking their rookie quarterback to go deep very often, but when he does he will have a tall and athletic wide receiver to target.
What can fantasy football owners expect from Pryor this week? It would be reasonable to expect at least three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. There is a good chance that he will put up more production than that, but it all depends on how much the Browns utilize the passing game.
Without either Robert Griffin III or Josh McCown, Kessler is their only option. It isn’t the best situation for Pryor to have a big fantasy week. Because of the fact that a rookie quarterback will be under center, it would be wise to keep Pryor out of your fantasy lineups this week.
Moving forward, Pryor will have much more fantasy value. When McCown comes back, Pryor could end up being a very solid FLEX option.
