Five injuries to monitor entering Week 4

With the weekend here, we take a look at a handful of NFL injuries to keep an eye on for Week 4.

Julius Thomas: The Jacksonville Jaguars tight end is dealing with an elbow injury. He did practice with a brace on Friday, but he’s still questionable for Sunday’s early game from London. That’s a concern for a player who had 135 yards and a touchdown during the first two weeks of the season.

Jamaal Charles: The veteran Kansas City Chiefs running back looks like he has a chance to play for the first time in nearly a year. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Charles (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. But even if Charles plays, he won’t likely get a heavy workload.

Dez Bryant: The stud wide receiver didn’t practice Friday while dealing with a knee injury and is questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Dude is less than a week removed from suffering a hairline fracture in his knee, so it’s not looking good.

Tyron Smith: Bryant isn’t the only key Cowboys offensive player dealing with a tough injury. Smith (back) missed the team’s Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears and is questionable for the 49ers game. Very good chance Chaz Green once again replaces the three-time Pro Bowler at left tackle on Sunday, which is far from ideal.

Rashad Jennings: The veteran New York Giants running back missed Week 3 with a thumb injury, paving the way for Orleans Darkwa to pick up 62 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. But Jennings appears to be a game-day decision for Monday’s tough matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Might be smart to keep Giants backs on the bench.
