The Green Bay Packers came into NFL Week 10 action with a major need for a win. They were favored against the Tennessee Titans, but ended up coming out flat and were blown out by a final score of 47-25.
Needless to say, this week was a humbling experience for the Packers. They are now no longer viewed as a favorite in the NFC and are a borderline playoff team at this point in the season. Obviously, they can still turn their season around and get back to being a serious Super Bowl contender, but they have a lot of work to do in order to get there.
Aaron Rodgers and company have lost three straight games and have shown no signs of improvement. It will be interesting to see what the next few weeks hold for them, but panic has struck Green Bay.
All of that being said, what three things did we learn from the Green Bay Packers’ Week 10 loss to the Titans?
Aaron Rodgers Can’t Win By Himself
Even though Aaron Rodgers had a very solid game outside of his two interceptions, it wasn’t close to enough. He needs more help than he has and the Packers simply haven’t gone out and gotten that help for him. If Ted Thompson wants to win another Super Bowl, he has to make the roster moves necessary to make that happen.
Mike McCarthy Should Be Firmly on the Hot Seat
Over the last couple of weeks, rumors have been flying about the Packers potentially placing Mike McCarthy on the hot seat. That should be the case even more this week after an embarrassing loss. Green Bay has underachieved over the last couple of seasons with McCarthy leading the way and the Packers have to consider moving on from him.
Green Bay’s Defense Is Beginning to Fall Off
At the beginning of the season, the Green Bay defense looked much improved. After a rough performance this week, it is obvious that the Packers’ defense is beginning to fall off. Giving up 45 points is an issue and it will be hard for the Packers to win more games unless they figure out their defensive issues.
