Indianapolis Colts believe they can get extension done with Andrew Luck

Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts suffered through a major disappointment throughout the 2015 NFL season. They ended the season at 8-8 in a season that they were expected to contend for a Super Bowl. According to a report from Ian Rapoport, even with the struggles that they had, the Colts still want to get a contract extension done with quarterback Andrew Luck.

Luck ended up missing the majority of the 2015 season due to injury problems. He struggled even when he was on-the-field, but obviously that has not made the Colts falter in their belief in him.

Throughout the 2015 season, Luck ended up completing just 55.3 percent of his pass attempts for 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He played in just seven games.

At 26 years old, Luck still has plenty of time to get his career back on track. He may have struggled this season, but he still has shown superstar qualities throughout his career. Luck will bounce back in 2016 with a big season and there is no question that the Colts should do everything in their power to get him locked up to a long-term extension if they can.

Chuck Pagano is back in town for the foreseeable future and the Colts have to make other moves to keep their core together. Luck isn’t likely to go anywhere if the Colts don’t get the extension done, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Colts get Luck locked up to a big contract. Both sides would like to get something done, which should make the talks fairly smooth.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Colts this season and Luck’s name will likely be attached to quite a few of them.
