John Fox took over the Chicago Bears’ coaching job and was hoping to see Jay Cutler figure things out under his watch. It had been a rough past in Chicago for Cutler, but Fox believes that Cutler did his job in 2015.
Cutler received high praise from his head coach and Fox said that Cutler was one of the bright spots from 2015.

Throughout the course of the 2015 NFL season, Cutler ended up completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 3,659 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He did miss a game due to injury, but was much more reliable than he has been in years past. Cutler also didn’t force the issue as much as he has in years past.
Beating the Green Bay Packers on the road on Thanksgiving night was a major highlight for Cutler and it was the first time that he had walked into Lambeau Field and come out victorious.
Looking ahead to the 2016 NFL season, the Bears can only hope that Cutler grows from the season he put together. Adam Gase has left town to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, which is going to hurt a bit. Gase is one of the top quarterback coaches in the league and his offense certainly fit Cutler’s style.
At 32 years of age, it has been becoming obvious that Cutler is maturing as a player. He has not been as immature as a leader and his decision-making skills have been improving as well.
There is no question that Fox and the Bears should be happy with Cutler’s 2015 performance, but the nerves will always be there in Chicago when Cutler is mentioned. He has imploded too many ties and come up short in too many clutch situations for them to trust him after one solid season.
