Mike Wallace is without question one of the most underrated receivers throughout the first two weeks of the 2016 NFL season. He has been a huge threat for the Baltimore Ravens. Joe Flacco has seemingly found a new favorite target as well, although he still has Steve Smith Sr. and multiple other options to throw to.
Throughout the first two weeks of the season, Wallace has caught seven passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns. He has always been a major deep threat for every team that he has played for, but he is becoming a quality possession wide receiver as well.
Because of the first two weeks that he has shown with Baltimore, Wallace is a must play fantasy football option moving forward.
Each of his first two games this season, Wallace has proven that he is a consistent option. In the past, he has been a hit-and-miss fantasy football receiver. If he can continue catching around five or six passes per game for 60 yards and a touchdown, he will be a quality No. 2 receiver in any lineup.
Flacco is not going to stop going to Wallace moving forward. That shouldn’t even be a concern for fantasy football owners. Smith is still a good receiver and there are other targets for the Ravens, but Wallace is without question the No. 1 wide receiver with the number of targets he has been receiving and the chemistry he has with Flacco.
Baltimore is also a pass-first offense this season. Justin Forsett has received a good number of carries, but they don’t have a “workhorse” running back that they think can power their offense.
It will be interesting to see what the rest of the season holds for the Ravens. They are hoping to make some noise in the AFC North division, although many believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers will end up winning the division when everything is said and done. Obviously, the Ravens would like to have something to say about that.
All of that being said, if you’re a fantasy football owner, make sure to plug Wallace into your lineup moving forward. He should be in your lineup each and every week and should give you great production for trusting him with your No. 2 receiver slot or possible the flex position.
