Sam Bradford expected to start in Week 2 vs. Green Bay Packers

The Minnesota Vikings are preparing to take on their NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football this week. It is a game that many think they will end up losing, but Mike Zimmer and the Vikings’ coaching staff are going to do everything in their power to pull off a huge win.

According to a report, the Vikings are preparing to start Sam Bradford at the quarterback position ahead of Shaun Hill. Hill started in Week 1 and lead the Vikings to a win over the Tennessee Titans.

Needless to say, this is an intriguing move by the Vikings. After Teddy Bridgewater went down with a gruesome knee injury, the Vikings were willing to give up a first-round pick for Bradford. They sat him in Week 1 as he familiarized himself with the Minnesota offense, but it sounds like they are ready for him to take over the starting position this week.

Green Bay’s defense has shown the ability to get to the quarterback and make plays in the secondary. Bradford has not been known as the best quarterback when it comes to taking care of the football under pressure.

Last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Bradford ended up completing 65.0 percent of his passes for 3,725 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Many within the Eagles’ organization didn’t feel like he was capable of being a long-term franchise quarterback. Minnesota obviously believes that he has the potential to be a threat in the future, especially if Bridgewater can’t come back at 100 percent.

Bradford knows that he must take advantage of this opportunity with the Vikings. After an injury-plagued start to his career, the former No. 1 overall pick needs to bounce back and prove that he is capable of leading a team to the playoffs this year.

Expect to see Bradford make his Vikings’ debut on Sunday against the Packers. It will be intriguing to see what kind of numbers he is able to put up and how he fares in his quarterback duel with Aaron Rodgers.
