Ten biggest 2016 NFL draft steals

Sometimes you get lucky and the perfect scenario happens in the draft where an ideal situation falls to you. You can’t always prepare for the unexpected but you have to be ready to pounce when the perfect opportunity presents itself to draft a complete steal. Below are the ten most value picks in the 2016 draft:

1. Jalen Ramsey, CB, Jacksonville Jaguars drafted 5th overall out of Florida State

Many felt he was the best player in the entire draft. But when two teams trade up to take quarterbacks (even if they’re not the best players in the draft) and a running back goes 4th, the Jaguars were fortunate to have someone really special fall to them. It was either going to be Joey Bosa or Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey is a once a decade type talent at corner and he fell to the Jags at 5th overall. It’s shocking he dropped that far.

2. Laremy Tunsil, T, Miami Dolphins drafted 13th overall out of Ole Miss

Tunsil is fortunate in some ways he didn’t fall lower after his pre-draft hack video was posted from his Twitter account. But what’s undeniable is that the Dolphins got a complete steal at 13th overall from a talent perspective. If he can keep his head on straight the Dolphins can thank that video for helping land a top 5 talent into their lap at 13.

3. Shaq Lawson, DE, Buffalo Bills drafted 19th overall out of Clemson

Hard to believe he went 19th as arguably the best pass rusher in the draft not named Bosa. The Bills got a steal that low in the 1st round.

4. Laquon Treadwell, WR, Minnesota Vikings drafted 23rd overall out of Ole Miss

Perhaps he didn’t kill it at the combine or his pro day but many still think Treadwell was the best receiver of this class. Budding star Teddy Bridgewater needs help to develop and he’s lucky to get Treadwell as a weapon. Make no mistake this will prove to be a steal.

5. Myles Jack, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars drafted 36th overall out of UCLA

It’s hard to know how much this knee condition will affect Jack’s career. If it doesn’t, 32 NFL teams will feel incredibly stupid. The fact is Jack is a top 4 player in this draft, and almost any draft, without the medical concerns. The Jags must be thanking their lucky stars at how this draft played out for them – a dream scenario.

6. A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Detroit Lions drafted 46th overall out of Alabama

Very surprising to see him go in the 2nd round after so many thought he might be the best defensive tackle in the draft. He’ll need to develop his pass rushing skills to be complete, but he can be a day 1 dominant force against the run.

7. Jarran Reed, DT, Seattle Seahawks drafted 49th overall out of Alabama

Like his teammate above, it’s surprising that NFL teams could watch tape of that dominant Alabama interior that anchored an all time quality college defense and not jump on these guys sooner.

8. Cody Whitehair, G, Chicago Bears drafted 56th overall out of Kansas State

The Bears thought so much of him they immediately released veteran Matt Slauson. He was the top rated guard in the entire draft by almost everyone.

9. Carl Nassib, DE, Cleveland Browns drafted 65th overall out of Penn State

He had 15 sacks last year. When you can get a guy with that kind of production that late, you’re happy.

10. Reggie Ragland, ILB, Buffalo Bills drafted 61st overall out of Alabama

A heart valve condition caused him to fall. If he can
