Top 5 NFL players from the Divisional Round Playoffs

This weekly segment highlights the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.

1. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

For the second consecutive week, Bell finds himself on this list in the playoffs. He couldn’t pick a better time to be playing at this level and it should have the Patriots worried. He had 30 carries for 170 yards and it’s safe to say the Steelers needed every single on of them as they won by 2 points without scoring a touchdown.

2. Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons QB may have cemented his MVP status with a dominant dismantling of the vaunted Seahawks’ secondary. He went 26 of 37 for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns in what was clearly the most impressive passing performance of the weekend.

3. Mason Crosby, K, Green Bay Packers

Some may think it’s crazy not to have Aaron Rodgers or Jared Cook here… but it doesn’t get more clutch than Crosby’s performance. He hit from 51 and 56 in the final 1:33 of the game to seal a 3 point win for the Packers and give them the road win. He was also 4 for 4 on extra points.

4. Logan Ryan, CB, New England Patriots

Ryan had 7 tackles, a sack on a blitz and an interception in the win over the Texans. He was also credited with 3 defended passes.

5. Chris Boswell, K, Pittsburgh Steelers

His longest kick was 45 yards so you could argue he just did what he was expected to do… but when you go 6 for 6, account for all your teams points in a 2 point win, and show that remarkable consistency in very tough weather conditions? That’s impressive. No kicker has made the top 5 this season before this week and we had two.
