This weekly segment will highlight the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.
1. Adam Thielen, WR, Minnesota Vikings
You’ve probably never even heard of this guy before this season. He lit up the Packers for 12 catches, 202 yards and 2 touchdowns. What? The undrafted Minnesota State product has become a legit NFL player.
2. Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins
Yet another 200 yard rushing performance. What a monster season he has had. 206 yards on 32 carries and 1 touchdown in the Dolphins’ overtime win. Ajayi is 6th in the NFL in rushing and this is the 3rd time he’s made this list.
3. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
He’s worked his way back into the MVP discussion with this impressive win streak the Packers are on. Week to week he’s been lighting it up lately, showing no ill effects of his leg issues. He was 28 of 38 for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns despite the frigid weather. No one wants to face the red hot Packers in the playoffs.
4. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
Is he the best receiving tight end in the game right now? The vaunted Broncos defense had no clue how to slow him down. 11 catches for 160 yards and 1 touchdown. His second time on this list.
5. Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys
He had 5 catches for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a circus one handed score despite being interfered with. He also had a trick play passing touchdown in the blowout win over the Lions.
