Top 5 NFL players from week 7

This weekly segment will highlight the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.

1. Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins

After being #3 last week, Ajayi is back on this list for the second consecutive time after back to back 200+ yard rushing performances. He’s the hottest player in the NFL right now. This week he had 28 carries for 214 yards and a touchdown, running all over the Bills.

2. A. J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

There’s little question he’s still one of the very best receivers in the league. He had 8 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown, leading the Bengals to a smooth win over the Browns. If you watched this game you know how impressive he looked.

3. Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Luck looked back at peak form in the win over the Titans going 27 of 39 for 353 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also added 17 yards rushing.

4. Jeremy Hill, RB, Cincinnati Bengals

It’s been a rough season for Hill but he turned it around in a big way this week. And even if you take away his thundering 74 yard run, he still had 94 yards rushing on 8 carries. He finished with 168 yards on 9 carries with one score. Monster performance despite limited reps. He also added 2 catches for 24 yards, averaging a whooping 17.5 yards per touch! The Bengals have two players on this list this week – but they won’t play the Browns every weekend.

5. Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers

Much has been made of Aaron Rodgers’s bounceback performance against the Bears but he leaned heavily on Adams and wouldn’t have played nearly as well without him. Adams had 13 catches for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.
