It looks like the Houston Texans have the wrong number for Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, which led to a strange and funny text message exchange between a Texans scout and a female amateur triathlete in Louisiana.

Trade secrets weren’t necessarily revealed in the leaked text, but it is interesting that the scout, Rob Kisiel, tried to finagle info regarding other teams out of Prescott by stating that he would “need” the prospect to list teams that have shown interest and/or brought him in for visits. A lot of this is public, but it also comes off as kind of shady. I mean, it’s certainly not pertinent information and it isn’t Prescott’s responsibility to relay any of that to Kisiel.
But if you want to remain on a scout’s good side, are you really going to refuse to share that information? Prospects’ hands are sort of tied in these situations, which is why it’s a rather clever tactic.
