Arizona Cardinals Select LB Haason Reddick with No. 13 Pick

Haason Reddick may not have been a hyped up name in the 2017 NFL Draft, but the Arizona Cardinals were happy to take him with the No. 13 overall pick. Reddick will be yet another piece added to keep the Cardinals’ defense at the top of the league.

Last season with the Temple Owls, Reddick showed off his NFL potential with 65 total tackles to go along with 9.5 sacks, an interception, three defended passes, and three forced fumbles. That kind of pass rushing will make the Cardinals’ defense even more dangerous for opposing quarterbacks. It will also help the playmaking secondary make even more plays in 2017.

Standing in at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, Reddick will be a force to be reckoned with for opposing offensive lines. He comes from a school not known for pumping out NFL talent, but his hard work has paid off.

NFL.com has put out a bottom line breakdown of Reddick’s game and how he will fit at the NFL level.

“Injuries limited Reddick to just four games over last two years of high school, forcing him to walk on at Temple. The Owls staff helped him unlock his explosive athletic traits on the field, which resulted in three forced fumbles, 9.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss in 2016. Reddick’s speed and athleticism might give him a greater shot at impacting the game as a 3-4 inside linebacker or a 4-3 WILL rather than trying to bulk up and play the edge. An ascending prospect with a high-end potential if he can continue to hone his craft.”

Expect to see Reddick step up immediately in 2017 as a rookie and earn a role with the Cardinals. He has displayed an intense work ethic and that will not stop now.

Do you think the Arizona Cardinals made the right choice by drafting Haason Reddick? If not, who do you think they should have drafted?
