Leonard Fournette Drafted By Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 4

Leonard Fournette was one of the most popular names in the 2017 NFL Draft after an impressive college career with the LSU Tigers. He was one of the most dominant running backs that college football has seen in recent years. Now, Fournette will be taking his talents to Florida to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Last season with the LSU Tigers, Fournette ended up carrying the football 129 times for 843 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers don’t look great, but he struggled with some nagging injuries. Two years ago at LSU, however, Fournette showed his full potential with 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns on 300 carries.

Standing in at 6-foot-1 and weighing 230 pounds, Fournette combines an impressive amount of strength to go along with blazing speed. Fournette is ready to help take the Jacksonville offense to a new level.

NFL.com posted up a description of Fournette’s game and even went so far as to compare him to Adrian Peterson.

“High-end talent with rare blend of size, speed and power. Comparisons to Adrian Peterson feel lofty, but from a physical standpoint, he’s there. Fournette doesn’t have the wiggle to make defenders miss and his vision can be iffy. However, if your run fits and tackling aren’t sound, he can take it the distance in an instant. May have durability concerns due to physical running style, but has All-Pro potential.”

Expect to see Fournette live up to the hype and help turn the Jaguars’ franchise around. He will certainly take a lot of pressure off of Blake Bortles’ shoulders.
