Top 5 NFL players from Wild Card Weekend

This weekly segment highlights the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.

1. Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers

He carried the Packers passing attack in a lot of ways once Jordy Nelson left with an injury. Nothing against Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams who both had tremendous games and have rightful claims to be included on this list, too. This week just came down to too many good performances by others. Cobb had 5 catches for 116 yards, but more importantly 3 touchdowns which were all huge in securing the win.

2. James Harrison, OLB, Pittsburgh Steelers

He might be 38 but seldom has he ever played a more dominate game. The Dolphins had no answer for him. From the edge he produced 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He was also excellent against the run.

3. Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Marshawn Lynch in the playoffs has always been at his best. Rawls isn’t making the Seahawks miss Lynch too much right about now, though. He had 161 yards on 27 carries and 1 touchdown.

4. Lawrence Timmons, ILB, Pittsburgh Steelers

He had more tackles this weekend than anyone with 14 – 2 of which were sacks. Jay Ajayi was completely shut down and he played a huge part in that.

5. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Yes, the Dolphins run defense was atrocious, but Bell took full advantage. 29 carries for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns.
